• Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your email address for account recovery purposes only.
• Encrypted Content: Your photos and videos are encrypted on your device before being stored. We cannot access, view, or decrypt this content.
• App Settings: Your preferences and settings are stored locally on your device.

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: We may collect basic device information (OS version, device model) for crash reporting and app optimization.
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve app performance (you can opt-out in settings).

2. How We Use Your Information

The limited information we collect is used solely to:

• Provide and maintain the FireLock service
• Enable cloud backup and sync features (if you choose to use them)
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Send critical security updates or service notifications
• Respond to your support requests

We will never:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Use your data for advertising purposes
• Share your information without your explicit consent (except as required by law)
• Scan or analyze your encrypted photos and videos

3. Data Storage & Security

Local Storage

All your photos and videos are encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup.

Cloud Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable cloud backup to your personal Dropbox account:

• All files are encrypted on your device before being uploaded to your Dropbox
• Backups are stored in your personal Dropbox account - you have full control
• FireLock does not have access to your Dropbox data or backup files
• Your encryption keys are never transmitted to our servers or Dropbox
• You can manage, view, or delete backup files directly from your Dropbox account
• Cloud backups are end-to-end encrypted - only you can decrypt them

Security Measures

• AES-256 Encryption: Military-grade encryption for all stored content
• Secure Key Derivation: PBKDF2 with SHA-256 for password-based encryption
• Biometric Protection: Support for Face ID and Touch ID
• Decoy Mode: Fake password protection against forced access

4. Third-Party Services

FireLock may use the following third-party services:

• Dropbox: For optional cloud backup storage. Backup files are stored in your personal Dropbox account, fully encrypted before upload. FireLock does not access your Dropbox data - you maintain complete control over your backup files.
• Crash Reporting: Anonymous crash reports to improve stability (no personal data included)

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We carefully select partners who respect user privacy. Note that when using Dropbox backup, your encrypted files are subject to Dropbox's terms of service and storage policies.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: You can access all your data within the app at any time
• Delete: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Export: You can export your photos and videos from the app
• Opt-Out: You can disable analytics and cloud backup in app settings

6. Children's Privacy

FireLock is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. International Users

FireLock is available worldwide. Your encrypted data is stored on your device and optionally in your personal Dropbox account, which may be located in various countries depending on your Dropbox account settings and region.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Sending you a notification (for significant changes)
